Astronomer Heidi Hammel observes planets using high-powered telescopes that collect light from the planets' and turn the light into images. Heidi then interprets the images to draw conclusions about the planets' atmospheres and weather.

Heidi's favorite planets are Uranus and Neptune, two of the farthest planets from Earth. They are often called ice giants because their thick atmospheres cover slushy layers of ice.
